Welcome! This portion of the Short-Track Racers on the Internet site covers the high-end stock cars racing on asphalt tracks known as Late Models. This means "Super" Late Models like ASA, USAR Hooters and NASCAR All-Pro, and it also means Limited Late Models, NASCAR Late Model Stocks, Late Model Sportsman and all similar cars.

Traditionally, the late model ranks are a stepping stone for some drivers who go on to super stardom in NASCAR Winston Cup. Drivers such as Alan Kulwicki, the Wallace brothers, Mark Martin, and on and on. The touring Late Model series are a career for some drivers and teams -- at the top of the Late Model ranks are true racing businesses who chase 40 or more races a year, guys like Jody Ridley. Late Model cars are all are all stock-looking GMs, Pontiacs, Fords, and Dodges, some have real steel bodies while others have fiberglass bodies, most pure racing chassis. Our Tech pages outline the technical differences between the various types of cars and sanction rules.
